Overview

Sweden ranks as the EU’s most innovative economy, and its standard company form, the Swedish private limited company (AB), is open to owners from any country. What most founders need is a company that can start trading quickly: we deliver a ready-made AB with a Stockholm address, bank account support and accounting in place, fully remotely.
A ready-made AB transferred to you, so you start without waiting for a new registration
A registered address in Stockholm, meeting the legal requirement for every company
Help choosing a bank or EU fintech account and preparing the application
A VAT-active company on request, with an EU VAT number to invoice clients from day one
Accounting with our partner accountants, from the first transactions to the annual report
Everything signed remotely, with no travel to Sweden and all documents prepared for you
Choose a ready-made company to start at once, a VAT-active company with an EU VAT number from day one, or a new registration in your own name. Whichever you choose, we check your structure, prepare every document and coordinate the registry, bank and tax steps for you. MAXCORP hands over a working company, not just a registration, and remains your local team for accounting, changes and banking after registration.
Why Sweden
Shareholders can live anywhere; residency rules cover only the board and management.
A single flat corporate income tax rate of 20.6% applies to the profits of every AB.
Share capital starts at SEK 25,000, paid into a Swedish or EEA bank before filing.
An EU member state, so a Swedish AB trades in the single market with an EU VAT number.
No. 1
Sweden is the most innovative EU member state in the European Commission’s 2026 scoreboard, ahead of Denmark.

A ready-made Swedish AB transferred to you with the essentials in place: a registered address in Stockholm, help choosing a bank or EU fintech account and preparing the application, and accounting set up with our partner accountants. You can start working in Sweden without waiting for a new registration.
A ready-made AB is already entered in the Companies Registration Office, so there is no wait for a new registration in Sweden. If you need a specific name, the company can be renamed after the transfer through a registry amendment.
A ready-made company that is already registered for VAT in Sweden. Its VAT number is valid across the EU, so you can invoice EU business clients from day one without waiting for a VAT registration. Availability is limited, so please ask us for the current options.
The operational company package starts from €4,800; a VAT-active company is quoted on request. A new registration on its own starts from €2,500, with the setup services added separately. Running costs: mail handling and forwarding on request, accounting and tax reporting on request and business consultation with a lawyer €280 per hour. We provide a detailed quote for your project.
Yes. Swedish law sets no nationality or residency requirement for shareholders; the residency rules apply to the board, the managing director and the signatories. Opening a bank account depends on each bank’s own onboarding rules.
At least half of the board members and half of the deputy members, the managing director (if appointed) and at least one person authorised to sign for the company must live in the EEA. Otherwise the Companies Registration Office can grant an exemption for special reasons, for a fee per appointment.
If no representative of the company lives in Sweden, the company must also appoint a special service recipient (delgivningsmottagare) resident in Sweden. No exemption is possible from this rule.
The EEA-resident board members are provided by you. We can act as the local service recipient when your accounting is with us.
You sign the power of attorney before a notary public in your country. For use in Sweden it usually also needs an apostille if your country has joined the Hague Apostille Convention, or consular legalisation if it has not.
Documents filed with the Companies Registration Office must be in Swedish or come with a Swedish translation. We confirm what applies to your country.
Yes, for a new registration, subject to approval. The name must include “aktiebolag” or “AB” and differ from other names and trademarks in your line of business; see the Companies Registration Office’s help with choosing a name. A ready-made company can be renamed after the transfer.
Yes, if no board member, managing director or authorised signatory lives in Sweden. The board must then register a service recipient (delgivningsmottagare) with the Companies Registration Office: a person aged 18 or over who is registered as living in Sweden and receives official documents for the company.
Our ready-made and VAT-active packages include this contact person, and it works together with our accounting services.
The articles of association must name the place in Sweden where the board has its seat, and the company’s address is recorded by the Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket). Our packages include a registered address in Stockholm.
A new AB needs a bank certificate from a Swedish or EEA bank showing that the share capital has been paid in, so this step comes before registration. For daily banking, most of our clients open an account online with EU providers such as Revolut, Wise or Paysera, and add a local bank later. Our banking advisory supports you, but the bank makes the final decision.
Every AB files an annual report, which must reach the Companies Registration Office within 7 months of the financial year end. VAT is reported monthly, quarterly or yearly depending on turnover, and employer returns are monthly once you have staff. Our accounting partners can handle all of it.
Yes. Our partner accountants handle bookkeeping, VAT and payroll returns and the annual report, with a fee that follows your volume, so your company stays compliant after formation.
Usually 2 to 4 weeks from the point we have received all required documents, including the signed power of attorney. That covers preparing and translating the documents, filing, and processing by the Companies Registration Office (about 8 working days).
